Aintree Sale Graduate SAMCRO Remains Unbeaten

Goffs UK Aintree Sale graduate SAMCRO extended his unbeaten record to five starts under rules when easily winning yesterday’s Grade 3 Monksfield Novice Hurdle at Navan for trainer Gordon Elliott and owner Gigginstown House Stud.

The five-year-old son of Germany went unbeaten in three Bumper starts last season, including one at Listed level, before winning his debut over Hurdles at Punchestown in October by 15 lengths. Yesterday’s victory was equally impressive, winning by 12 lengths in a brilliant display under jockey Jack Kennedy, and confirmed the high regard in which the horse is held by his connections.

"We always thought he was very good but that was a bit special,” commented Elliott. “What he did out there was class. I don't know if we'll run him at Christmas, we might wait for the Grade 1 Lawlor's Hotel Novice Hurdle at Naas in January. He's obviously a horse for next year so anything he does this year will be a bonus. He looks like a real nice one and we are lucky to have him.”

Samcro was offered at the 2016 Goffs UK Aintree Sale by Colin Bowe’s Milestone Stables where he was purchased by Gordon Elliott for £335,000.
