£100,000 Reasons – Doncaster January Sale Supplementary Entries Online

Next week’s Goffs UK January Sale at Doncaster will offer a new £100,000 bonus as part of the sale’s inaugural bonus section which will see four of the 23 supplementary entries catalogued eligible for the scheme.

Tuesday 24 January: NH foals & mares from 10am
Wednesday 25 January: HIT & pointers (inc. the bonus section) from 10am

The £100,000 January Sale bonus will be paid out to the first eligible horse sold at next week’s sale that wins any race at the 2023 or 2024 Cheltenham Festival. The bonus will be split with £50,000 paid to the vendor, £25,000 to the trainer and £25,000 to the owner(s). The January Sale has produced numerous Festival winners, the most recent being Vanillier, who won a PTP at Dromahane before being sold at the January Sale and going on to win the Grade 1 Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle in 2021. 

The four horses eligible for the new bonus are:

  • Lot 293, Fashionelle (4YO F by Champs Elysees), placed a close second on her debut bumper for Rae Guest at Huntingdon.
  • 294, The Cox Express (4YO G by Cityscape), the winner of his debut bumper for Tom Lacey at Warwick.
  • 295, Rockstown Native (5YO G by Califet), the five-length winner of his most recent PTP for Paurick O'Connor at Turtulla.
  • 296, Taita Hills (5YO G by Workforce), the winner of his most recent PTP for Andrew Pennock at Ampton.

The other 19 supplementary entries that are not part of the new bonus section feature three more NH mares, an additional three horses-in-training from Gordon Elliott, taking his total draft in the sale to 10, as well as entries from David Pipe, Evan Williams, Jonjo O'Neill, Olly Murphy, Stuart Crawford etc.
