Bags Groove & Walt Take Kempton Graded Double

The Goffs UK Spring Sale enjoyed a Graded double at Kempton on Saturday courtesy of Bags Groove and Walt who showed they are well on track for future targets at the Aintree and Cheltenham Festivals.

The Harry Fry trained BAGS GROOVE took his winning tally to nine from 18 starts when claiming his second Gr.2 win in the Gr.2 888Sport Pendil Novices' Chase. The win maintained the 8YO's impressive record over Fences thus far for owner Michael Pescod with connections indicating the son of Oscar will head to the Randox Health Grand National Festival.

Bags Groove was sold by Goldford Stud at the Goffs UK Spring Store Sale to Harry Fry for £40,000.

The Cheltenham Festival will be the next stop for the Neil Mulholland trained and Phil Simmonds owned WALT following a career best performance to win the Gr.3 888Sport Handicap Chase. The 8YO holds three entries for the Festival with connections indicating the Gr.3 Ultima Handicap Chase on the opening day being the most likely.

Walt was sold by Nicky Henderson at the Goffs UK Spring HIT/P2P Sale to Neil Mulholland for £30,000.
