Sale Documentation

We have recently updated our biosecurity protocols and we now insist that copies of the following documents are emailed to gill.jeffrey@goffsuk.com by Monday 12 April.

  • Front page and marking pages from the Passport. This must include a copy of the microchip and passport number. All passports must then be handed to the gate office upon arrival at the Sales Complex.
  • Vaccinations page of the Passport. Please ensure that the passport number is included on this copy to enable us to identify the horse.
  • Goffs UK 90 day Health Declaration. A blank copy of the required form can be found here. The original must be handed in to the gate office upon arrival at the Sales Complex.
  • Import Documents are now required for all horses travelling to sales from Ireland and a sample copy can be found here . These documents are being prepared by Goffs UK and will be sent to you by separate email in the coming days. To enable us to complete these forms, please ensure that we have the name of the transport company that you are using for this sale.

Blood Sampling Requirements

  • Equine Infectious Anaemia. All horses must be presented for sale with an EIA test carried out using the Coggins method. This must be taken within 17 days of the sale and we highly recommend that the test is conducted at the APHA Weybridge Laboratory as this will allow the prompt export of those Lots returning to the EU after sale. Vendors should be aware that the processing and reporting of the EIA (Coggins) tests can take up to 5 working days.
  • Equine Viral Arteritis. All colts must be presented for sale with an EVA test carried out using the Serum Neutralising Test (SNT). This must be taken within 17 days of the sale and we highly recommend that the test is conducted at the APHA Weybridge Laboratory to allow the prompt export of those Lots returning to the EU after sale. Vendors should be aware that the processing and reporting of the EVA tests can take up to 12 working days.

Please ensure that the certificates for the above tests are sent to gill.jeffrey@goffsuk.com by Monday 19 April.

Goffs Online Repository

This is now open for the Goffs UK Breeze Up Sale and enables the consignors’ vet to upload x-rays, scopes and reports from anywhere in the world. Viewing of these documents can also be done from anywhere in the world.

The system works as follows:

  1. Your Veterinary Surgeon will upload files on your behalf by clicking here. The attached upload instructions should be passed on to the vendors vet to explain this process. We strongly recommend that all files are uploaded in advance of the sale and, whilst there is no minimum number of x-ray plates, a list of the recommended plates can be found on the repository website and on the attached. Please note that vets will be required to register prior to gaining access to the repository and access will be approved and strictly controlled by Goffs.
  2. The consignor will be notified by text and/or email when files have been uploaded to the repository. You will also be sent a unique internet link which will allow you to control who receives the automatic viewing updates.
  3. Automatic viewing updates will be sent by text and/or email when a vet views your horse. Vets will be required to name their client before gaining access to these files and the automatic update will include the lot number, the vets name and the clients name.

Please contact jeremy.mactaggart@goffsuk.com if you require any further information on the repository.

Goffs UK would also like to draw your attention to the following:

  • Entry to the Sales Complex will be strictly limited
  • Entry to the Sales Complex will only be granted to those that have completed the online medical questionnaire. Goffs UK will refuse entry to anyone that is not registered and/or shows any symptoms of COVID-19 including an elevated temperature
  • Goffs UK will refuse entry to anyone who does not or refuses to abide by the Sale Protocols in full
  • All attendees must bring and use their own PPE (this includes instructing all staff accordingly)
  • As before, Goffs UK will not have any cash on site. All payments (including catering) must be made by card whilst Grooms Fees, Inward Buyer Subsidies etc. will all be paid electronically.

Hotels

The local Hotels will be open for this sale and are taking bookings as below:

PCR Test for those returning to Ireland

We are aware that all those travelling back to Ireland must do so with a negative PCR test. We have therefore organised for an independent company to be based in the Ken Oliver Restaurant at the Sales Complex on Tuesday 20 April from 6.00am until 11.00am to take tests for all those needing to travel. Results will be returned by email within 24 hours and tests can be booked by clicking here. The cost will be £105 + VAT (Total of £126) and this must be paid using cash or credit card. Please note that Goffs do not have an account with this company and anyone missing this window must organise their own test at any of the local PCR testing centres.

Please do not hesitate to contact any member of the Goffs UK team if you require any further information and we look forward to seeing you in Doncaster from Friday 16 April.
