Galway Festival Bumper Winner Rocket Lad Added to Doncaster August Sale

Dual Bumper winner Rocket Lad is the second supplementary entry to be accepted for Wednesday’s Goffs UK August Sale at Doncaster which will offer 313 stores, flat and NH horses-in-training and pointers on 7 August from 10am.

Trained and to be offered by Emmet Mullins, Rocket Lad won his debut Bumper at Tramore in May before taking his second Bumper victory at the Galway Festival yesterday, leading all the way under jockey Ruth Dudfield. The Racing Post described the race as a ‘decent winners’ bumper’ and that the 6YO ‘could be back here next year looking for a novice chase success’.

Rocket Lad is a 6YO son of Olden Times, is out of a Flemensfirth mare and hails from the family of Stakes winners STORM ALERT and ESCREA. He will be offered at Lot 148.

The sale will also offer the supplementary entry Razoul, a 4YO son of Mastercraftsman, who won his most recent Hurdle start at Kilbeggan on 19 July by an impressive 10-lengths. He will be offered at Lot 147.

The Doncaster August Sale will feature the second part of the Grech & Parkin Dispersal which sold horses up to a world record £620,000 at the Doncaster Spring Sale earlier this year. The dispersal’s August Sale draft will offer ten entries, all offered without reserve, and feature NH young and breeding stock.
