Talented 4YO Lone Eagle, who was placed second in last season’s Group 1 Irish Derby, will be offered on Goffs Online in a timed auction on 21 – 22 November.
The son of Galileo, who was a 500,000Gns purchase by Aquis Farm as a yearling in 2019, made an immediate impact on the track for trainer Martyn Meade with his 2YO season seeing him win three of four starts, culminating with victory in the Group 3 Zetland Stakes.
Last season at three he added to his winning record when taking the Listed Cocked Hat Stakes at Goodwood, a race where he beat Yibir who went on to win the Group 3 Bahrain Trophy on his next start, as well as two Grade 1s in America that season including the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Turf.
Lone Eagle then went to the Group 1 Irish Derby on his next start where he finished a neck second in an impressive performance to Hurricane Lane with the Racing Post commenting “the first two finished well clear and have been rated as improving, with the second horse matching the best runner-up in this race of the last ten years.” He has also been racing this season for Freddie & Martyn Meade and was placed third in the Listed Tapster Stakes.

As per previous Goffs Online sales, the auction will offer Agents Commission of 5% of the hammer price of any lots successfully sold to the buying agent. The amount in question will be deducted from the vendor sales proceeds and is highlighted in the Conditions of Sale.
Lone Eagle will be sold on Goffs Online with the sale commencing at 12 noon UK time on Monday 21 November and closing from 12 noon on Tuesday 22 November.
