Record Grossing PTP Trade at Doncaster

More records were set at the Goffs UK Spring Sale this week with today’s opening day of the Spring HIT/PTP Sale, a session dedicated to pointers and young form horses, achieving the highest turnover ever for the category in a superb day at Doncaster.

Action in the ring built throughout the day and it produced a brilliant finish with a flurry of six-figure sales and a top price of £215,000. A total of 15 horses sold for £100,000+, surpassing the previous record of 13 lots achieved across both days in 2019 which famously featured the Grech & Parkin Dispersal.

With another huge crowd in attendance in the sunny Doncaster complex, the sale was topped by Monbeg Stables’ last start winning pointer Roadlesstravelled (Lot 513) who was knocked down to Stroud Coleman Bloodstock and Jonjo O'Neill for £215,000. The debut PTP and PTP bumper winning filly Saunton Surf (Lot 512A) from Millstone Stables created her own piece of history when being sold to Highflyer Bloodstock and Warren Greatrex. Her £175,000 price set a new record for a British PTP filly sold at public auction.

Other lots to star in today’s record breaking day were Loughanmore Farms’ Ballymackie (Lot 471), the impressive winner of his last two PTPs, which sold to Ashley Brooks for £160,000, whilst three lots shared their £150,000 price tag – Skehanagh Stables’ Della Casa Lunga (Lot 478) which sold to Stroud Coleman Bloodstock, Paurick O'Connor Racing’s Primoz (Lot 480) which was purchased by Lucinda Russell and Paul McIvor, and Hazelrigg Racing’s St Cuthbert's Cave (Lot 517) which was knocked down to Gordon Elliott Racing.

The second and final day of the Doncaster Spring HIT/PTP Sale, which will feature a partial dispersal of 25 lots from Dai Walters, will commence tomorrow at 10am.
