The catalogue for the 60th Goffs UK Spring HIT/PTP Sale is now online and will offer 372 horses on its traditional dates of Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 May at Doncaster.
As per last year’s format, the Doncaster Spring Sale will be held over four days with the stores opening the sale on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 May. The Doncaster Spring HIT/PTP Sale has enjoyed a superb season on the track headlined by the dual Grade 1 winner and rising star CONSTITUTION HILL who set a new track record in his 22-length victory in the Cheltenham Festival’s Gr.1 Supreme Novices’ Hurdle. The 5YO spearheads an outstanding trio of Goffs UK HIT/PTP graduates alongside JONBON and AHOY SENOR, both of whom landed Grade 1 victories at the Aintree Grand National Festival.
The two-day Spring HIT/PTP Sale will see the opening day largely dedicated to pointers and will feature the Select PTP/Form Horse Session, the session which sold Constitution Hill. Entries for the session will be supplemented into the sale following the weekend’s point-to-point meetings and those over the coming two-weeks.
Entries already feature numerous UK and Irish PTP winners such as Adieulevieux Enki (Lot 440), a 4YO who was the impressive winner on his most recent PTP for Rob James at Fairyhouse, Porthill (Lot 420), a 4YO by Flemensfirth who finished just two-lengths behind Adieulevieux Enki on his debut and Shuil Ceoil (Lot 444), who fell at the last when contesting for the lead in the same race on his debut.
The second day will be dedicated to horses-in-training and will feature several dispersals as is so often the case at this traditional end of NH season sale. Topping those will be the annual Million In Mind Dispersal which will offer six horses, headlined by the promising Guerlain De Vaux (Lot 645) who has won two of his three starts over hurdles and the impressive bumper winner Largy Train (Lot 646) whilst others of note include 10 lots from Simon Munir and Isaac Souede including by the Gr.1 Liverpool Stayers’ Hurdle winner IF THE CAP FITS (Lot 612), and a further eight entries from Gleadhill House on behalf of the Late Sir Trevor Hemmings.
Owners and trainers that will offer entries over the two days include Alan King, Ben Pauling, Colin Tizzard, Dan Skelton, David Pipe, Donald McCain, Evan Williams, Gavin Cromwell, Henry De Bromhead, Iain Jardine, Ian Williams, Jonjo O'Neill, Lucinda Russell, Nicky Henderson, Nigel Twiston-Davies, Oliver Sherwood, Olly Murphy, Paul Nicholls, Philip Hobbs, Philip Kirby, Tim Easterby, Tom George, Venetia Williams, Warren Greatrex, Willie Mullins etc.
Goffs UK Managing Director Tim Kent commented:
“The Spring HIT/PTP Sale is the largest NH horses-in-training sale in the world and it’s great to see it so well supported again by so many leading owners, trainers and PTP handlers. Together with the Spring Store Sale, we once again have four large days of selling on our traditional dates so we have a big week to look forward to as we all bring the NH season to a close and celebrate another great year. As ever the sale features some significant dispersals as Doncaster Spring has an unrivalled record when it comes to this category, most recently when the Grech & Parkin Dispersal was topped by a record breaking top price of £620,000 whilst Million In Mind is always a highlight and has enjoyed some great days in the Doncaster sales ring.
“As in previous years there will be a decent number of additional entries supplemented into the sale, particularly pointers for the Select PTP/Form Horse Session from the meetings held over the weekend and those to come over the coming two-weeks. Supplementary entries will be released in batches in the build-up to the sale and for those wishing to enter their horse, we encourage them to contact the Goffs UK team.” 2022 Doncaster Spring Sale format
