Straightline Bloodstock Dispersal Headlines at Doncaster December HIT Sale

The feature of this year’s Goffs UK December HIT Sale was the unreserved dispersal of Richard Gilbert’s Straightline Bloodstock and as expected the draft produced the highlights of today’s action at Doncaster.

The dispersal offered 14 lots, all of which sold, and it was the last lot of the draft that topped today’s sale, the four-time winner Platinumcard (Lot 90), who sold to Tom Malone for £62,000. The unraced 5YO Ain't No Sunshine (Lot 87), an own brother to the Grade 1 winner Airlie Beach, was another to attract bids from around the ring before being knocked down to Middleham Park Racing for £35,000. That price was shared by Barn 4 Chestnut Tree Stables’ dual winner Inver Park (Lot 91) which sold to Hurworth Bloodstock.

The Straightline Bloodstock Dispersal also saw the dual bumper winner Arthurs Seat (Lot 88) sell to T.S.M. Bulgin, and the debut Dromahane P2P winner Kilbarry Leader (Lot 68) to Dan Astbury and Stockton Hall, both for £27,000.

Goffs UK Managing Director Tim Kent commented on the sale:

“Undoubtedly the feature of today’s sale was the Straightline Bloodstock Dispersal and we would like to extend our thanks to Richard Gilbert for entrusting his dispersal to us. These drafts offer genuine opportunities for others to benefit from the change of circumstances with the previous owner and there were a good number of buyers who attended today’s sale in the hope of securing horses from the draft.

“Today’s sale caps off a big week for us following a very successful December P2P Sale at Yorton yesterday and also completes an outstanding 2021 Goffs UK sale calendar which included some record-breaking sales across both codes. We would like to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and we look forward to returning to Doncaster next year for our January Sale.”
