Superb 94% Clearance Rate at September HIT Sale

The current insatiable demand for racehorses showed no signs of slowing at Doncaster today with the Goffs UK September HIT Sale finishing with a superb clearance rate of 94%.

Topping today’s sale was Ballyhampshire Stud’s debut bumper winner Royal Creek (Lot 143), a 4YO daughter of Getaway who won her bumper at Ballinrobe in August, and sold to Kevin Jardine for £90,000.

The annual Gigginstown House Dispersal was the feature draft heading into today’s sale and it duly delivered when producing Battleoverdoyen (Lot 99) to take the day’s second highest price. A headline performer for Gigginstown House with two Grade 1 wins, the 9YO was sold to Aidan O'Ryan, Gordon Elliott and Pioneer Racing for £67,000.

The Gigginstown House dispersal produced three of the sale’s top four lots, with other lots to feature including the Grade 2 winner Tout Est Permis (Lot 52) which sold to Marcus Collie for £48,000, and the Grade 1 winner Daly Tiger (Lot 93) which was knocked down to the bid of Laura Morgan for £40,000.

Goffs UK Managing Director Tim Kent commented:

“Recent sale results have demonstrated the demand for racehorses shows no signs of slowing and that was evident again today with our September HIT Sale producing a superb clearance rate of 94%. Our feature draft once again this year was the Gigginstown House dispersal, which has become an annual highlight on the Goffs UK sale calendar, and it lived up to the hype with all 16 lots finding new homes. We wish to extend Gigginstown a sincere thanks for their ongoing support of the September HIT Sale, and we wish all our buyers the very best with their purchases.

“We now head to Wales for tomorrow’s Goffs UK Yorton Sale where a top-class catalogue of 46 NH 2YOs will be offered from 1pm.”
