Supremacy Claims Back-to-Back Richmond Stakes for Doncaster Premier Sale

Smart 2YO SUPREMACY became the seventh individual Stakes winning 2YO for the Doncaster Premier Sale this season when stylishly winning today’s Gr.2 Qatar Richmond Stakes at the Qatar Goodwood Festival.

The son of Mehmas provided back-to-back victories in the race for his trainer Clive Cox and the Premier Sale with Golden Horde winning the time-honoured race last year. Premier Sale graduates have won three of the last four editions of the Richmond Stakes with Barraquero taking the honours in 2017. Supremacy was purchased by Clive Cox Racing from Owenstown Stud.

The result continues what has been a superb season for graduates of the Premier Sale with the 2020 catalogue to be released online on Tuesday next week. Other smart graduates to have made headlines this season thus far include GOLDEN HORDE for his Royal Ascot Gr.1 Commonwealth Cup win, BARNEY ROY who has won Gr.1 races in Dubai and Germany this year, other Gr.2 winning 2YOs VENTURA TORMENTA and THE LIR JET, Gr.2 winning 3YO sprinter A’ALI etc.

The win also follows a top performance from 2YO STEEL BULL who won yesterday’s Gr.3 Markel Insurance Molecomb Stakes for trainer Michael O'Callaghan at the Qatar Goodwood Festival. The son of Clodovil was purchased at this year’s Goffs Arqana Breeze Up Sale by Michael O'Callaghan from Kilbrew Stables.
