The Best Yet – 60th Doncaster Spring Store Sale Catalogue Now Online

Goffs UK is thrilled to release what shapes as the finest catalogue produced in the 60-year history of the Doncaster Spring Store Sale which will see 313 elite stores offered over two days on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 May.

In a milestone year for the sale which launched DBS (now Goffs UK) back in 1962, the Doncaster Spring Sale looks set to continue its long history of excellence with a superb line-up of stores. The sale successfully expanded to two high-class days last year, and set records across the board, and this year’s catalogue looks well placed to continue that momentum with some exceptional individuals and pedigrees to be offered in May.

All stores catalogued in the sale this year will be eligible to enter in the Spring Sale Bumper, which makes a return to Newbury Racecourse next year following a two-year absence due to COVID. Following the record success of last year’s sale, Goffs UK have increased the stake to £100,000, making it the richest bumper in the world. The 2023 Spring Sale Bumper will also see the introduction of the Bumper Bonus prizes which will award the winning trainer a free six-month lease of a two-stall horse box from leading manufacturer TheAult and to the winning vendor, a generous bespoke wine package from Charles Murphy Wines (more info here).

Goffs UK Managing Director Tim Kent commented:

“This year certainly shapes as a big year for the sale and we are very confident in the quality of horses we are going to be offering in May. Last year we aggressively expanded the sale, taking our numbers up to 300 horses and moving to two-days and it was a huge success so our goal for this year is to build on that growth and we feel we have the catalogue to achieve that.

“The reception we received from breeders and consignors has been very positive, right from the outset, and our inspection teams have been impressed with the individuals they have seen. The sire line-up is strong and we have some outstanding pedigrees as well so we are very much looking forward to celebrating the 60th Spring Store Sale on 16 & 17 May.”

The Goffs UK Spring Store Sale at Doncaster will offer Lots 1 – 150 on Monday 16 May from noon and Lots 151 – 313 on Tuesday 17 May from 11am. The Spring HIT/P2P Sale will be held the two days following the Spring Store Sale on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 May for which entries are being taken now.
