Three Grand National Entries Headline Goffs Online March Sale Catalogue

The new Goffs Online March Sale is set to offer something special with the 68 confirmed entries featuring three Randox Grand National entries, giving prospective owners a rare opportunity to secure a runner in the world’s most famous Steeplechase at Aintree’s Grand National Festival.

The Goffs Online March Sale will be held on 24 March with bidding opening for all lots at 10am. Lots will close in lot order from 12 noon with each lot’s closing time found in the catalogue which is published online only. The timed online sale will follow that of a familiar eBay style auction, meaning there will be no auctioneer and it will be open to the public to view. Prospective purchasers must register and be approved by Goffs to bid.

The three Randox Grand National entries to be offered are the multiple Graded winner Alpha Des Obeaux (Lot 47), the Grade 1 Ryanair Chase winner Balko Des Flos (Lot 20) and the multiple Graded winner Ballyoptic (Lot 31). Both Alpha Des Obeaux and Balko Des Flos are entered and will run in the Cheltenham Festival’s Cross Country Chase next Wednesday 17 March.

The sale features predominantly NH stock with some smart young horses-in-training to be offered including the last start bumper winner Trevada (Lot 25), bumper placed Wild Hunt (Lot 39) and Champagnesocialist (Lot 48), Chinx Of Light (Lot 36) who placed second on his debut under rules in a Class 3 hurdle and Clogga Bay Girl (Lot 46) who placed third in a Class 3 hurdle on debut.

Other HIT to feature include The Brimming Water (Lot 28) who won a Class 3 hurdle on his most recent start, Le Musee (Lot 35) who has won his last three flat starts over ground and the Gr.2 hurdle placed mare Kalahari Queen (Lot 63).

The sale will also feature breeding and young stock which include a Motivator yearling filly out of a half-sister to the multiple Gr.1 winning mare HONEYSUCKLE (Lot 55), a Blue Bresil yearling filly out of the winning and L. hurdle placed mare Mystery Drama (Lot 57) and a Jack Hobs yearling filly out of the Listed winning mare DISSAVRIL (Lot 60). Also catalogued are mares in foal to Frontiersman, New Approach and Westerner.

All horses are sold with Veterinary Certificates and buyers have until 5.00pm on the second calendar day following the Sale (5pm Friday 26 March) to appoint a vet of their choice to re-examine the horse for soundness and wind at the vendor’s premises.
