Top Class Breeding Stock Heads Online Doncaster January Sale Entries

This year’s Doncaster January Sale will differ from its normal format and has been split into two parts: part 1, a timed online sale of breeding stock and horses-in-training (26 January) and part 2, a physical sale of NH weanlings at the Doncaster Sales Complex (17 February).

The January Sale’s part 1 timed online auction has been well supported with a catalogue of 89 horses featuring 35 NH mares and 54 HIT. The catalogue will only be available to view online, no catalogues will be printed. The part 2 catalogue of weanlings will be printed later this month.

The part 1 online HIT & breeding stock sale will be conducted as a timed online sale which will open at 10am on Tuesday 26 January with Lot 1 closing from 12 noon. Lots are scheduled to close in 2-minute intervals with Lot 2 due to close at 12.02, Lot 3 at 12.04, Lot 4 at 12.06 etc. Any bid placed inside the final five-minutes will extend that lot’s closing time by a further 5-minutes. Supplementary entries remain open for the sale and can be made by contacting Goffs UK.

Goffs UK Managing Director Tim Kent commented:

“We were all hopeful that we could start off 2021 with a January Sale held on its scheduled date at our Doncaster Sales Complex but new restrictions have meant that is not possible. Taking into account that mares are in-foal or are soon to be covered, we wanted to assist breeders and facilitate an outlet for them and hence we have turned to our proven and user-friendly online platform to offer these mares along with the horses-in-training.

“Goffs have demonstrated that online sales can be very effective and that, along with the superb support received from breeders, owners and trainers who have sent us some outstanding horses, gives us confidence that we can conduct another successful online sale.

“This catalogue will be online only, there will be no printed catalogues, and we encourage prospective buyers to keep an eye on their desired lots on Goffs Online as we receive photos, videos, vet certificates, pregnancy and breeding certificates etc. in the build up to the sale.”

Supplementary HIT & breeding stock entries can be made for the timed online sale by contacting Goffs UK. NH weanling entries for part 2 of the January Sale at the Doncaster Sales Complex will remain open until 20 January and can be made online here
