P2P.ie Review: Montmartre Abbey is a grey son of Monmartre who made the perfect start to his career at Tralee on the final day of the season. Arriving for his debut with a price tag of €60,000 from the store sales, he was unsurprisingly sent off at the top of the market and was ridden with the confidence to match that throughout the race. Travelling at his ease throughout, Barry O’Neill was content to bide his time in mid-pack, only electing to bring him closer racing to the third-last fence. The ease at which he was able to close on the principals was eye-catching and it saw him challenge approaching the home bend whilst travelling strongly. Once asked to hit the front he did so swiftly and was always holding his rivals up the run-in whilst showing some signs of his inexperience. There is certainly more to come from him.
