P2P.ie Review: Unexpected Depth made the perfect start to his racing career when winning at the first time of asking, with a taking display at Loughrea. This looked a competitive race and the principals came to the fore, including the eventual runner-up Pistol Whipped, who had been running a big race at the same venue in the spring before slipping-up. Unexpected Depth made strong progress along the back straight, before launching his bid by coming wide around rivals on the long home bend, before quickening best after the last to win going away. The success, which proved to be a first for his young 19-year-old rider, saw him beat well-bred individuals, with the second, third and fourth placed horses costing upwards of €30,000 each at the store sales.
