Indianapolis Tops Doncaster December HIT Sale

Goffs UK has seen a busy sales schedule from its Doncaster base in 2020 and sales from this location came to a successful conclusion earlier today when the December HIT Sale saw a good level of trade from start to finish. This was backed up by a clearance rate of 82% and a top price that outperformed any other during the short history of this sale.

Topping the sale was the James Given trained Indianapolis (Lot 24), a three-time winning son of Galileo out of the dual Group 1 winner Adoration. Offered by Mount House Stables, the 4YO was knocked down to Richard Ryan and Ian Williams for £52,000. The second highest price of £29,000 was shared by three-time winner Dash Of Spice (Lot 86), who was purchased by Ontoawinner from Egerton House Stables, and the two-year-old Saeiqa (Lot 141), who was purchased by Denis Hogan from the Clarehaven Stables draft.

Yet-Y-Rhug entered a draft of horses to dissolve the partnership of Roddy Owen and the late Paul Fullagar and that was topped by Equus Dancer (Lot 57) who realised £24,000 whilst the same figure was the top priced horse from the Godolphin draft when Civil Law (Lot 83) was bought by Guy Stephenson.

Goffs UK Managing Director Tim Kent commented:

“Whilst we are not going to pretend that today’s sale is the highlight of our year, we are very proud of the trade that has been achieved throughout the day and we would like to thank all vendors and purchasers for their participation. We saw some spirited bidding throughout the day, with those present competing with a strong online buying bench, and this has helped to produce a very satisfactory end to the sales in Doncaster for 2020.

“The December Sale is normally the last fixture in the Goffs UK calendar, but we have an additional date in 2020 which will see us return to Yorton Farm Stud for the new December P2P Sale on Thursday 17 December. We have already announced some very smart pointers for this sale, and we will be adding to the catalogue in the coming weeks to ensure that the Goffs UK year finishes in style at Yorton Farm."
