December P2P Sale 2020 (at Yorton)

17 December

Lot 30 - Ingeborg Zilling (IRE)

Purchaser: Mark Lloyd.
Price: £20,000

Review: This mare was sent off the 1-2 favourite when making her racing debut on Sunday, and she did not let her backers down. One of nine runners in a maiden race for fillies and mares run at Barbury Racecourse, she was in the forefront of a small group that pulled clear running down the back straight, and she had put space between herself and her rivals at the second-last fence. She eventually won by five lengths from a mare who had finished second on her previous run. Ingeborg Zilling, a well-made daughter of Mahler, comes from a top stable and is said to be a sweet mare who has always been easy to handle and quick to learn. She is the daughter of a Hernando mare who won over 12 furlongs on the Flat and also over hurdles. Further down the page appears the name of The Fly, who was placed in the Gr.1 St Leger.
