P2P.ie Review: A visually impressive debut from this son of the top class Shantou when making an explosive debut at Lisronagh. Derek O’Connor was content to let the race develop before moving into a challenging position before the second last but it was soon clear why he could demonstrate such patience and confidence as the response from this winner was instant. He showed a turn of foot rarely seen in three mile contests and quickened all the way to the line, and in truth for some distance passed the line also. The placed runners both came down at the second last at Monksgrange on their previous outings when second and third respectively so they appeared to add real depth to this race. The time was the fastest of the day and notably faster than the average by thirteen seconds. A rare opportunity to acquire a talented son of Shantou he showed notable scope when required but his speed was the eye-catching aspect of this performance.
